Camilla and Gabi welcome you with their good cooking!
Thanksgiving is a week away, and the Steussy Ranch is now dedicated to the celebration! Anyone coming should be sure to check this site daily for updates. We have eighteen people scheduled for the celebrations, plus planned drop-ins with extended family in the area and any unplanned drop-ins. Here is the basic schedule:
WEDNESDAY November 25
- Noon. Guests start arriving. Don’t delay, come when you can. Gabi has scheduled her cooking to handle most of the advance work before this, so we can all spend time with guests.
- 3pm Kids back from school.
- ~3pm Dan suggests local winery visit.
- 5pm Martini hour (the most important hour of the day)
- 6pm Dinner, with authentic Hungarian cuisine
- 7pm – 8:30pm Steussy kids bedtime routine, guests welcome to participate or ignore us.
- 8:30pm to late. Whatever.
THURSDAY November 26
- All Day Until 4pm. COOKING
- 8am or so. Breakfast at the Steussy Ranch.
- 9:30am. Football on TV (Green Bay at Detroit, not exciting, videogames preferred)
- All Day – lot’s of kids playing, hopefully outside in the nice weather. Might include trip to local park.
- No Lunch Planned – Hors d’œuvres throughout the day.
- 1:15pm. Football on TV (Oakland at Dallas, not exciting, yawn!)
- 4pm. THANKSGIVING DINNER.
- 5:20pm Football on TV (NY Giants at Denver – this one is exciting!)
- 7pm – 8:30pm Steussy kids bedtime routine, guests welcome to participate or ignore us.
- 8:30pm to late. Whatever.
FRIDAY
- 8am or so. Breakfast at the Steussy Ranch.
- 11:30am. Participants in Stone Brewery Lunch leave Temecula.
- Noon. Stone Brewery Lunch.
- 1pm. Alex leaves by bus from Temecula.
- Afterwards. Unplanned time. Whatever. Until Monday.
In the coming days, there will be posts about the food details and photos, a Who’s Who of guests, drinks, requests for things we need (chairs, silverware, and glasses may be in short supply) and anything else we can think of.
It will be fun! Looking forward to seeing everybody!
