Football Week 3

Sunday, September 26th, 2010

Andy wins again! Again, a lot of upsets pushing total points down close to 90 even for the winners. Tom W. was winning during after the afternoon games, but the Jets managed to beat Miami Sunday evening.

Indiana Trip

Bistro 501, Lafayette

Just got back from a three day stay in Indianapolis. The highlight was taking Mom to Lafayette for dinner at Bistro 501 with Nic and Marti (great place!). Mom is in great shape; she has some major projects under way. Also saw Helen, Tom and TJ while in Indy.

Indianapolis Colts swag

And what’s a trip to Indy without a quick trip to the sports section of the local Walmart for Colts swag? Kids (and Gabi) loved it. Great going against the Broncos this weekend, Colts.

NFL Week 2 – Rich Wins!

Monday, September 20th, 2010

Wow! What a ton of upsets! Chicago, Tampa Bay, Miami, the Jets, Pittsburgh …

But Rich navigated through it better than the rest of us. Regardless of the results of New Orleans at San Francisco, he wins the pool this week.

Andy Wins Week One!

It was a tight game between Kansas City and San Diego. I wasn’t expecting that! Congrats to Andy on winning week one of the pool!

NFL Week One

Monday, September 13th, 2010

NFL Week One still has two games to play (San Diego at Kansas City and Baltimore at the NY Jets), but here is how the numbers in our confidence pool wrap up. If San Diego wins, Ed takes the first week. If Kansas City wins, then it’s a split between Cally (for a Jets win) and Andy (for a Baltimore win).

It seems odd to me that so many people chose the Jets with so many points. I thought this was my long-shot for Monday night. I suppose everyone really likes the story of the Jets: foul-mouthed coach, young quarterback and surprise post-season team from last year. I think the Baltimore Ravens have a much more solid team and much better chance tonight.
