Aunt Helen gave us Seaworld tickets in June. In the six months since then, we’ve been there at least four times that we remember. The ability to return again and again makes for a low-pressure situation where we can do just a few hours in the sun and waves, see a couple of shows and ride a few rides. Great fun!

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010Nic’s big present to the family was this UFO-like flying machine (which I had seen and flown before, see here and here). It’s a complicated, expensive and very fragile machine – but boy is it cool when it works!
Below is the feed from the camera onboard during a flight over the top of our house.
UPDATE: The drone is currently dead. Parrot customer service has quickly responded with an offer to repair. Will update as news comes in.

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010Pappy’s Football Injury
Friday, August 20th, 2010
Pappy’s vet has told us that Pappy has a football injury – a torn ACL. Probably injured during a morning jog with me, we’d been encouraging Pappy to exercise when he was lame. Wrong thing to do, says the vet. He needs rest. 90 days of not chasing rabbit, no jogging and no unnecessary walking.
On a scale of 1 to 4, with 1 the least bad and 4 the worst, Pappy’s ACL is rated at 1.5. Painful, but manageable.
